Well Vika has a family and its not us

Vika was referred to another family. And really I am at peace about it all. She jsut needed a family and she will have one come May. There were things Chet and I really needed to do before we have one move in so we are happy to have time for that. The adoption story has just begun for us so you'll be hearing more in the future.

Long time no post....

Ok here is some things we have been thinking about. We are starting to look towards the Ukraine for our adoption. Since each adoption their totals about 20000. We are starting to come up with ideas to fundraise that money. We really need about 3000 to start all the documents and homestudy paperwork. So that is my goal. 3000. Thats not so bad. lol who am I kidding? Well my God can do anything so lets pray people!! WE are really beginning to look at a site called reeces rainbow. Well that is all I know just wanted to keep my 2 readers updated!

Praises to God

Well, I have just a few praises to share with you guys...Seems like all I do is pray and wait patiently and *poof* here comes the answer. The first one came yesterday in the form of a brailler. What is a brailler? Well, it is like a typewriter but it types braille. They are very expensive anywhere from 200$ to 400$ for a used one. The O/M teacher (teaches her mobility) went to a school that was throwing 2 canes and a brailler away. When she came for Abby's lesson, Abby's cane was cracked in half (I had used my first aid skills and splinted the break with pencils)  SO she suggested that Abby make do with one that was in her car. Then she mentioned the brailler and I told her I had been trying for months on e bay to get one.  She said to me "Well God works in mysterious ways! and she handed me the brailler!" She said I could have it...just have it. She didn't want any money for it and she said if it needed repair she could take it to KC to have it fixed for free. Fixed for free. God is good isn't he?
The second praise is with our adoption paperwork which the county was supposed to send 3 weeks ago. The agent hasn't been returning our calls and she is always out of the office? who knew? Well last night While surfing I ran across a phone number for Midwest Foster and adoption association and I called them today to ask if we had to work with the county or if there was another way. Guess what? There is another way...The place I called can train and license us and help with both adopting and fostering.  Awesome!! God is Awesome!

Sorry it took me so long to Post..

Chet and I are excited and nervous as we start the paperwork to adopt. For now we are trying to enter the foster care training and we look forward to what that will bring for us.  Our county is moving rather slow on getting us the paperwork, even after we visited them in person so I cant really tell you any more than that.  I have fallen in love with a little boy (with glaucoma) in China but we don't have enough assets to qualify for a chinese adoption right now. So maybe you all could pray about that...There are several blind children in China that apparently are having trouble getting adopted. "My" little boy has been on the list for about a year he is 8. But that is a long ways away yet. So anyways...that's all I know for now.  Amanda

Here's Fletcher at Ha Ha Tonka

This page is fletcher at ha ha tonka.  The photo was so pretty that I hesitated to even crop it.  This page used a lot of different elements and papers since I wanted the page to have a boyish feel to it.  The "fletcher" letters were  from "black Dotted alpha" by joyful heart designs which can be found at inspiration lane. The stamp alpha was stamp duty by lisbon lioness (she also created the orange paper in her Sinne Fianna Fial kit). The skull came from "Been there Wrecked that by KJosscraps"  The brown paper is unknown at this time.

Here's to Fletcher !!

This page is for Fletcher who got on the tube for the first time with Adam ( a kid that lives across the lake).  This was the first trip we took with Rick and Carey Johnson and of course Fletcher!! This page was done with the Cafe vienna mega kit for april 2010 by inspiration lane.  It is an awesome kit that I love.  The turquoise paper is from rustic charms creations for the march 2010 shine on blog train.

Back on the blogging wagon

Sorry I have not been posting for awhile my computer broke then i keep going to the lake where there is no internet.  So here are two new pages.  The first is from Anne Quades "Just Purples" kit and the second is from her "doodle bug" kit but the alpha used on the haha tonka page is from the "just greens" kit.

Here is a new kit by anne....

It is called "A Special Lady".  At first I had scrappers block with this kit but then I saw a commercial and i scraplifted the circles off of it.  Sometimes the best ideas come from anothers inspiration.
This was the first page I did ...I try to stretch my creativness by doing pages that have nothing to do with a kits theme. However I dont really like this page but what's done is done.  The next page however I love.

So 1 out of 2 isnt bad right.  Maybe Ill find a way to fix the other page later.

For those of you that digitally scrapbook, this is the kit for you it has some really really fun elements.  This new kit is called Eco Earth.  I expecially like the flourishes and the cloud that it came with. Here are 2 new pages.
I think its super cool that I turned Will into an angel don't you.  Anyways the Elephant pictures were taken back in 2008 when I went to the Zoo with Sherry, Chet's mom for my birthday...I hope to go again this year...hint hint.

New kit from Fishbowl designs called "just greens"

Here is a page of my new treasure done with the new kit from fishbowl designs called, "Just Greens".

So I really, really want to design my own kits.

But I'm not sure how to do zip files and all that so I hope my husband can help.  Here is a sneak peak of a freebie kit I've been working on...Let me know what you think of it.  Amanda
I like to scrapbook using real photos and scenes not just made up ones.  I think God does a great job designing things sometimes...

The photo frames that I use

The white border or off white border frames that I use in almost every page I do are by Katie Pertiet.  They were my first purchase of scrapbook stuff that was digital.  After I wanted them for like a year I bought them.  My husband was mad about it even though it was only 20 dollars because he says he could have made them.  I dont know why he didnt then.  lol.  These are the sets I bought:

She has way more selection to choose from.  I just picked the ones that I knew I could use over and over.  To find them go to google and type in her name.

Sugar cookies...yeah!!

So this page is a christmas page in some not-so christmas colors. There are a lot of elements on this page.
The Recipe:
The kits I used are as follows, From Aprilisa Designs comes the background paper - It's a baby girl collab, the sugar sweet flair, and circle background - from her chocolate comfort kit, tickets and journaling - End of Summer kit, the ribbon, flower, and clothespins are from her "my funny valentine" collab kit
the Butterfly sticker is from the "be mine" kit by Shmooangel designs, the red and turquoise button/flairs are from "Down the Rabbit Hole" by Millstream Cottage,  The alpha is the gingerbread alpha by Gunhilde Storeide and I knew it would be perfect for a cookie page.

I think that is all that I used.  This is my niece Mackenzie who is very artistic and has a great singing voice.  She is a girly girl preferring makeup and skirts but I love her.

An oldy but a goody...

This page was harder to do than the others because I had to line everything up.  Almost all of the page was from a kit called "Family Ties" that was a free collaboration kit put together by Aprilisa designs and Blue orchid digiscrap designs and 2 other people but I didnt use the other people's parts.  The gray piece of paper was from a kit called "remember When" and it was designed by Valerie N designs.  I only own 6 items in all my digital scrapbooking stuff that I have paid for (except for my fishbowl design stuff) so most of the kits that i credit were freebies unless otherwise stated.
Remember that you can click on the page to see it close up. PS the butterflies were by Gunhilde Storiede who makes some of the coolest things

Yeah!! a new Black blog template

Sorry guys, I was tired of the old brown blog this one seems more professional to me...maybe when I figure out code I can design a new scrappy one but for now i like this one.
This page is of the wedding it was done on the Runaway Bride kit by Anne Quade

Wow what a difference a working computer can make....

These 2 pages are featuring some pictures that I took of a tree outside our house that was blooming and of my Bleeding hearts and Hostas progress.  The day I took the tree photos(last week) there were no bleeding hearts and today there were...yeah ! I think spring has sprung.  Chet mowed the lawn yesterday and I can't believe we are starting into that again!! Also I think I might get to see my little cousin Sully this weekend.  Pray for him as he goes into surgery for a G-Tube on Thursday.
These 2 pages were done with a kit called Daffodil Dreams by Anne Quade the number circles are from the alpha that go with this kit.  Isn't that little birdie so cute!!  The page above is also dont with this kit and with the white solid from the Run away bride kit also by Ann Quade.  The "GROW" letters are made by Gunhilde Storiede and can be found for free on her website.
