Homestudy schmomestudy

We had our first home-study appointment and it went bust. Now we are trying to find someone else because the person we met just wasn't the right person for us. Both Chet and I felt we were being duped. It came off as being a used salesman kinda personality. Back to the books. Please pray that we can find someone and that it wont an arm and a leg.

  1. Or a sign that u r not meant to be adopting, period. Why r u ignoring it??

    1. Oh Jules, I sincerely hope you don't believe this. Are you saying that any time any thing becomes even the least bit challenging you take it as a sign to quit? Imagine what the world would be like if we all thought like you? My sister was adopted, so was my daughter. Neither process was without setbacks, but my life is so full of joy because of the both of them. To Amanda and Chet - I've never met you but please know that yes, adoption is hard work but it is so very worth it. There will be people who are negative but that is their problem, not yours.

  2. I am glad you are not listening to the above poster. I do not know if it is the same person but I follow several other RR adoption blogs and someone by the name of 'Jules' is posting negative things at least one other blog I read regularly :( I am not saying this is the same one, but adopting families face enough challenges without a lot of negativity being thrown their way.

I'm sorry this happened and that sounds like a discouraging experience, but better for it to happen early than to find out later, at least! I will say a prayer for you to find just the right social worker and for this process to go smoothly and quickly as possible. I was so happy to see that "Victoria" found a home :) May God bless you.
