The cost of Adoption

Some of you have asked about how things are going and why we need to raise all that money and where does it go? First of all adoptions aren't for the faint of heart. Whether domestic or international it takes a long, long time from start to finish. That said international adoption in Eastern Europe tend to be quicker than those in other countries. If we had all the money we needed we could move very quickly in this adoption. But. We. Don't. So we are moving on God's timeline. That said there are estimates as to what it is going to cost. The total is around 25,000. I know right? SHOCK. But domestic adoptions can cost between 8-13,000. And China adoptions cost upwards of 30,000-50,000. So its all relative. But here is the break down of those costs....

$2000 ............ homestudy
$2000  ............ USCIS,i-600a and fingerprinting
$5000  ............ flights
$8600  ............ facilitator fees
$1700  ............ first trip lodging ($80/nt 3 weeks)
$1100 ............  second trip lodging ($80/nt 2 weeks)
$450 ............    first trip food/other supplies ($20/day 3 weeks)
$250 ............   second trip food/other supplies ($20/day 2 weeks)
$600  ............   passport
$550   ............    Visa and Medical
$2000  ............ transportation (in country)
$1000  ............  orphanage donation/dossier preparation costs
25,000 TOTAL

Wow that's a lot but seriously this is a living breathing child here who will be forced to live in an insane asylum with grown adults if we don't get there soon. Its a lot of money, YES but our GOD can do it!!
